The Brno University of Technology's family of start-ups is expanded by the Forenzio project, founded by Jan Pěnčík and David Bečkovský, experts from the Faculty of Civil Engineering of Brno University of Technology. The start-up will offer investors, developers or property owners independent expert advice and other services in the construction industry. As of June 2024, this is the fourth entity to obtain the contractual trademark Start-up BUT.
"The signing of the contract with the BUT opens a new stage for Forenzio. Being able to use the trademark gives us more credibility and strengthens our position when dealing with clients and partners. At the same time, we continue to transfer expertise and experience from the university to practice. In this way, we contribute to fulfilling its third role and at the same time actively participate in the development of the company," said Jan Pěnčík, co-founder of the start-up and professor at the Institute of Civil Engineering at FAST BUT. He also mentioned the role of contriBUT, the innovative and entrepreneurial ecosystem of the BUT, which inspired him to create the start-up and in which he has been involved since the beginning.
Forenzio focuses on independent professional consultancy, project documentation review and audit, construction supervision and forensic and reverse engineering. "Our aim is not only to provide excellent professional services to our clients, but also to inspire our colleagues in academia and to show that it is possible to combine teaching with science, research and other professional activities because they complement each other synergistically. We would also like to show that not only business ideas are in demand on the market, but also knowledge and experience," added David Bečkovský, the second of the co-founders and an associate professor who works with Jan Pěnčík at the same faculty institute.
