Syllabus

  • 1. Current trends in development of metal structures (development of structural systems, materials and their combinations, technologies).
  • 2. Development and perspective of using multi-storey building.
  • 3. Structural system of multi-storey buildings with steel and steel-concrete bearing construction.
  • 4. Spatial rigidity, brace and reinforcement systems.
  • 5. Floor and platform bearing systems. Using of castellated beams and design.
  • 6. Steel-concrete floor construction.
  • 7. Multi-storey building columns, footing and column anchorage.
  • 8. Large-span roofing. Spatial trusses.
  • 9. Structural design of truss plates and grid systems.
  • 10. Fabrication and assembly of metal structures.
  • 11. Reinforcing, reconstructing and rebuilding problems of steel framed buildings.
  • 12. Design of metal structures based on experimental results. Tests realization and interpretation.
  • 13. Catastrophic events and their reflecting in design concepts of structural systems.

  • 7. Space rigidity of the building system, bracings.
  • 8.–13. Elaboration of detailing and drawing documentation.
