Syllabus
- 1. Shunting yards, functions, position in railway network. Development of sorting technology.
- 2. Set of reception sidings. Set of sorting sidings. Set of departure sidings, tracks for thoroughgoing trains.
- 3. Hump, technical equipment.Sets of tracks design, longitudinal section of hump track, dynamic estimation.
- 4. Passenger stations, types, technology, extent. Switch and track layout, equipment and efficiency. Railhead and through passenger stations.
- 5. Storage stations, technology, sets of tracks arrangement. Equipment of storage stations.
- 6. Depots, running shed. Technology, the arrangement of trackage.
- 7.–8. Railway siding (factory, industrial), set of tracks, connection to railway stations, interchange tracks.
- 9.–10. Railway junctions, passenger and goods traffic.

- 1. Specifying of the project, guidelines to draw up.
- 2. Design of hump height.
- 3. Design of turnout assembly, sets of tracks.
- 4. Design of longitudinal profile.
- 5. Dynamic evaluation of hump.
- 6. Format and content of drawings – Setting out drawing, longitudinal profile.
- 7. Consultation on the project.
- 8. Submitting of the projects, credit.
