Syllabus

  • 1. Introduction into GIS problems.
  • 2. Definitions and divisions of GIS.
  • 3. Data GIS models, phases of formation, typology of GIS, GIS managing data structures.
  • 4. Definition, collection and organisation of graphical data. Procedure within the formation of a GIS project.
  • 5. Planning of geographical technologies.
  • 6. Geographical analyses, spatial questions, questions on mapping objects and attribute tables.
  • 7. Characteristics of programming products of firms Intergraph, Autodesk, Bentley, ESRI.
  • 8. Usage of GIS within public authorities. Usage of GIS for certification of line constructions.
  • 9. Introduction into problems of modelling over GIS platform.
  • 10. Basic tasks – transport optimisation, goods delivery, optimal routes, region attendance, crisis management,
  • 11. Expert systems and its usage within railway transport.
  • 12. Application of GPS systems in transport etc.
  • 13. New trends of GIS development. The connection of GIS and the Internet.

  • 10. Network analysis in GIS, solving the given example.
  • 11. Management of transport in GIS, solving the given example.
  • 12. Sample data collection in mobile GIS.
