Syllabus

  • 1. Introduction to hydroinformatics, structure of hydroinformation systems.
  • 2. Input data used in water management - overview of information sources incl. map servers.
  • 3. Basic input data processing techniques and their use in specialized software tools (GIS, CAD).
  • 4. Possibilities of using simulation models in water management - rainfall-flow models (eg: Hydrog, HEC-HMS, etc.).
  • 5. Possibilities of use of simulation models in water management - modeling of water flow in pipelines, open channels and objects (eg: MIKE11, HEC-RAS, MIKE URBAN, MOUSE, SMS, FLOW 3D, COMSOL Multiphysics etc.).
  • 6. Possibilities of utilization of simulation models in water management - modeling of groundwater flow (GMS-MODFLOW, Hydrus).
  • 7. Fundamentals of design of water structures in CAD - preparation of data for creation of digital terrain model (point fields, edges), creation and editing of digital terrain model.
  • 8. Fundamentals of design of water structures in CAD - creation of longitudinal and transverse profiles.
  • 9. Fundamentals of design of water structures in CAD - design of the route, level and cross sectional pattern.
  • 10. Fundamentals of design of water structures in CAD - analysis of digital terrain model, calculations of cubatures.
  • 11. Principles of water management project documentation of water supply and sewerage systems using CAD in accordance with the standards ČSN 013463, ČSN 01 3462.
  • 12. Principles of water management project documentation of hydrotechnical and hydro-energetic constructions using CAD in accordance with ČSN 013469. Evaluation of individual assignments, credit.
