Syllabus

  • 1. Soils and rocks, earth works.
  • 2. Improvement of soils.
  • 3. Aggregate and unbound layers.
  • 4. Hydraulically bound layers.
  • 5. Bituminous binders.
  • 6. Asphalt mixtures – properties and design.
  • 7. Bituminous tack coats, surface dressings and slurry seals.
  • 8. Paved roads, concrete block pavements.
  • 9. Cement concrete roads.
  • 10. Design of rigid and flexible road constructions.
  • 11. Road diagnostics.
  • 12. Road maintenance and repair.
  • 13. Recycling of flexible and rigid pavements.

  • 8. Demonstration – production, compaction and testing of asphalt mixtures.
  • 9. Basic information on road construction design.
  • 10. Example – design of flexible pavements.
  • 11. Example – design of rigid pavements.
