Special problems of design and construction of incrementally launched bridges, precast girder bridges. 7. Special problems of design and construction of precast segmental bridges. 8. Analysis and special problems of design and construction of arch bridges. 9. Suspension and cable-stayed bridges. Pedestrian bridges. 10. Bridges designed for effects of the mining subsidence. Bridges designed in seismic areas.

Exercise

13 weeks, 1 hours/week, compulsory

Syllabus

1. Continuous girder bridge: transport solution, design of a structure. 2. Schematic drawings (situation, longitudinal and cross section), structural model. 3. Load, material, interacting width, geometric characteristics. 4. Structural solution in longitudinal direction – load effects. 5. Design of prestressing reinforcement in critical cross-sections. 6. Design of cables trajectories, effects of prestressing, scheme of prestressing reinforcement. 7. Correction. 8. Evaluation for serviceability limit state – stress and cracks limitation. 9. Completion. Final correction. 10. Design submission. Credit.
