VYA001 course is not part of any programme in the faculty

Further development of technical English terminology related to individual fields of study and its practical use in professional communication. Development of skills in understanding technical texts and discussing selected topics in civil engineering. Practice in preparing and delivering PowerPoint presentations on assigned technical topics, with an emphasis on the appropriate use of technical terminology.

Entry Knowledge

The prerequisite is knowledge of general English at B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and successful completion of VYA012.

Aims

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • further develop and actively use technical vocabulary related to civil engineering;
  • understand technical texts and spoken communication;
  • communicate about selected professional topics using appropriate terminology;
  • describe and explain basic technical processes and solutions.
