VYA012 course is not part of any programme in the faculty
Development of technical English with a focus on civil engineering terminology and its practical use in professional communication. Practice in understanding technical texts, identifying and processing relevant information, and discussing professional topics at CEFR level B2. Practice in preparing and delivering PowerPoint presentations on assigned technical topics.

Entry Knowledge
The prerequisite is knowledge of general English at B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and successful completion of VYA009 or knowledge of basic civil engineering terminology in English.
Aims
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:
- use technical terminology related to their field of study;
- understand technical texts and identify relevant information;
- communicate about selected topics in civil engineering;
- prepare and deliver a presentation on a technical topic;
- use basic language features typical of technical English.
