German for Beginners 2

VYN002 course is not part of any programme in the faculty
The course is intended for beginners and aims to review and develop students´ language skills (listening, reading, writing and speaking) at the elementary level of general German (A1 higher according to the CEFR).
Grammar: present tense, verbs with separable prefixes, word order, prepositions of time, accusative, positive and negative questions and ja/nein/doch, modal verbs, past tense (Perfekt)
Vocabulary: my day, telling the time, times of the day, arranging a date, the weather, free time and hobbies, skills and abilities, past time expressions

Entry Knowledge
Students should be familiar with the grammar and vocabulary covered in the course VYN001.
Aims
Having completed the course, students will be able to use the present and past tenses as well as modal verbs and they will also be able to communicate in elementary everyday situations.
Target level according to the CEFR: A1 higher.

- 1. revision of grammar and vocabulary covered in the course VYN001
- 2. L5: verbs with separable prefixes, daily routine
- 3. L5: verbs schlafen and arbeiten, telling the time, times of the day
- 4. L5: position of the verb in a sentence, arranging a date
- 5. L6: accusative, the weather (vocabulary)
- 6. L6: nominative x accusative, weather forecasts
- 7. L6: positive and negative questions, ja/nein/doch, free time
- 8. L6: verbs related to free time activities, hobbies
- 9. L7: modal verbs, skills and ambitions
- 10. L7: modal verbs, obligations
- 11. L7: past tense (auxilliary verbs and past participles)
- 12. L7: past tense, telling a story
