Principles of the operation, design and control of smart buildings. Interaction between the building, building services systems, occupants and building operation, and their interrelationships. Integration and automation of building processes. Principles of interconnection, monitoring and control of building technical systems. Components and structure of smart building systems. Design of control systems for heating, ventilation, cooling and photovoltaic systems. Control of heat sources and energy flows in buildings. Analysis of energy balances and possibilities for their optimization using building control systems.

Aims

Professional Knowledge

The student understands the principles of smart buildings, their automation, monitoring and control, and the interrelationships between the building, building services systems and operation. The student understands the principles of controlling heating, ventilation, cooling, heat sources and photovoltaic systems.

Professional Skills

The student is able to design a basic control system for building services, analyse energy flows and balances, and propose measures to optimize building operation.

Professional Competence

The student is able to apply the principles of automation and control in the design of smart buildings and assess their impact on the building's energy performance and operation.

  • 3. Technologies used in smart buildings
  • 4. Theoretical foundations of common and systemic electrical wiring in buildings
  • 5. Smart systems components - optimizing energy consumption
  • 6. Smart systems components - input and access control, closed television and security systems
  • 7. Smart systems components - fire protection systems, emergency technology control, back-up supplies
  • 8. Smart systems components -lighting control
  • 9. Telecommunication systems and IT infrastructure
  • 10. Interface in the system of electrical installation of buildings
  • 11. Communication in the system of electrical installation of buildings
  • 12. Communication channels in the system of electrical installation of buildings
  • 13. Visualization of functions control, system operation, examples from practice
