The course introduces electrical equipment as a necessary components of building technical equipment, application of basic principles of electric power transmission and electric energy utilization in public and residential buildings. Part of the course is also identification of protection against electric shock.

Professional knowledge
- The student will master the basics of electrical installation design for family and apartment buildings.
Professional skills
- The student will gain basic knowledge of electrical distribution in buildings. Lightning rod and lighting design.

- The student will be able to design basic electrical installations in buildings.

Syllabus
- 1. Introduction, basic physical laws in electrical engineering and calculations.
- 2. Electrical materials and elements in electrical engineering.
- 3. Technical Drawing in Electrical Engineering.
- 4. Determination of external influences. Protection of electrical equipment, protection against electric shock.
- 5. Internal electrical wiring, heavy-current equipment.
- 6. Public power distribution of electrical connections.
- 7. Measurement of electrical quantities and thermo-technical quantities.
- 8. Design and calculation of artificial lighting. Lamps, light sources.
- 9. Transformer stations, electrical machines, devices, photovoltaic power sources.
- 10. General protection against atmospheric electricity. Lightning arrester, overvoltage protection.
- 11. Internal low-voltage distribution in residential buildings (EPS, EZS).
- 12. Safety of work on electrical equipment.
- 13. Application of electrical equipment in buildings.
