Vice Dean for Graduate Doctoral Studies and Internal Relations roles and responsibilities:

  • realization of Doctoral study programmes in Czech language,
  • accreditation of Doctoral study programmes taught in Czech language,
  • coordination of the faculty's educational activities and the strategy of development of faculty's study programmes,
  • admission procedures to Doctoral study programmes,
  • State Doctoral Examinations,
  • dissertation defences,
  • study affairs of applicants, Doctoral students and staff in relation to study affairs in Doctoral programmes,
  • coordinated development of Doctoral programmes in connection with the creation of the European Higher Education Area,
  • coordination of the Faculty's educational activities and the strategy for the development of the Faculty's study programmes, together with the Vice Dean for Graduate Bachelor and Master Studies and English Courses,
  • preparation and promotion, registration in information systems and monitoring of projects related to Doctoral studies in educational activities at the faculty level,
  • supporting top students in Doctoral study programmes,
  • inter-faculty or inter-university Doctoral studies,
  • scholarships for Doctoral students,
  • coordination of the activities of supervisors of Doctoral study programmes,
  • mentoring of high school students by Doctoral students,
  • promotion of education and public relations, in cooperation with the Vice Dean for Graduate Bachelor and Master Studies and English Courses and the Vice Dean for External Relations, Internationalization and Marketing,
  • professional and methodological management of the Office of Academic Affairs, in cooperation with the Vice Dean for Graduate Bachelor and Master Studies and English Courses
  • submission, implementation and evaluation of faculty projects within the framework of development and other programmes of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports for Doctoral studies,
  • coordination of preparation, submission of faculty projects within the European projects Johannes Amos Comenius Programme, NPO, etc. for the field of Doctoral studies
  • register of students of Doctoral study programmes,
  • Institute workload, System of Distribution of Non-Investment Funds, preparation and implementation of methodology for transfer of salary funds to institutes,
  • System of Academic Staff Appraisal,
  • Library and Information Centre (LIC),
  • coordination of internal relations in terms of formulation of legislative processes, etc., together with the Dean and the faculty lawyer.

All vice-deans, in cooperation with the management of Brno University of Technology, the dean, the secretary and the responsible faculty staff, ensure the following areas in particular:

  • compliance with legal norms related to universities, in particular: zákon č. 111/1998 Sb. o vysokých školách a o změně a doplnění dalších zákonů (zákon o vysokých školách), as amended; zákon č. 130/2002 Sb., o podpoře výzkumu a vývoje z veřejných prostředků a o změně některých souvisejících zákonů (zákon o podpoře výzkumu a vývoje), as amended; relevant government regulations and resolutions and internal regulations and standards of the BUT and the Faculty, as amended,
  • assessing the effectiveness and efficiency of the Faculty's internal regulations and standards, preparing and submitting proposals for their modification,
  • fulfilling the strategic plan of the BUT and the Faculty within the scope of his functional competence, preparing proposals for their update,
  • implementation of decisions, directives and instructions of the Dean (and their control within the functional competence),
  • active participation in the Dean's advisory bodies,
  • creating and managing of advisory boards within his functional competence,
  • organisational and content provision of relevant academic ceremonies,
  • creating supporting materials for faculty presentations in relation to his functional competence,
  • dealing with issues relating to the AdMaS Centre within his functional competence.
